Indy Champions

Published March 01, 2023

Indianapolis has seen a drastic increase in domestic violence since 2020. With the onset of the pandemic, our city saw a 180% increase in domestic violence deaths related to gun violence. By creating the Indy Champions program, we are able to work alongside community partners and advocates to provide much-needed services to victims and survivors escaping violence in our community.

The Indy Champions streamlines help to victims and survivors, bringing all the Marion County agencies together to work with our first responders to understand better the system related to domestic violence and amplify resources in our community for education, prevention, and awareness to serve our city better.

If you, or a loved one, needs assistance, contact us at c[email protected] or via our 24-hour Helpline at 317-210-0866

We’re here to help

Our work touches a number of advocacy services, including:

  • Assist victims and survivors of intimate partner violence.
  • 24 hours crisis intervention
  • Emotional Support
  • Protection Order Assistance
  • Your Court Buddy (court accompany)
  • Domestic violence legal system understanding and awareness
  • Referrals related to domestic violence assistance
  • Legal Housing referrals
  • Community outreach and referrals
  • Domestic violence education and awareness
  • And more…….

You can get involved to help those escaping domestic violence

  • Be a voice and share us as a resource
  • Allow us to provide an informational session to staff, residents, family, or friends
  • Donate essential items survivors need when fleeing, such as:
    • undergarments
    • diapers and baby wipes
    • hygiene products (toothpaste/brushes, body wash, deodorant, etc.)
    • feminine products

Your support means another survivor will have the opportunity to know they are supported as they continue rebuilding in a safer environment free from domestic violence. We can help them flee, but your support will help us help them remain free.

Donate to assist those in need fleeing domestic violence!

The Indy Champions is a partnership between the Indy Public Safety Foundation (IPSF) and the Office of Public Health and Safety (OPHS), developed as part of the City’s Violence Reduction Strategy.

Your support will help us meet the needs of Indy's police, fire and EMS.
