Help us build a new barn for the IMPD Mounted Police Unit

The current IMPD Mounted Police Unit was established in 1983 with a goal to increase patrols in the downtown area and add a positive community relations tool for the department. The unit has had five horse stable locations throughout the city, but has never had a permanent place to call home. Now, we have an opportunity to invest in the Near West neighborhood while helping ensure the IMPD Mounted Police Unit has a permanent home in our urban core. With your help, these officers and their partners can continue to provide vital services to our community.

Be a part of the IMPD Mounted Police Unit’s Legacy

As a sponsorship investor, you are part of the Mounted Police family. Each investment will receive lifetime benefits that recognize your support and strengthen our continued partnership. IMPD, IPSF, and residents worked together to create a proposal for the new barn that would meet the growing needs of the unit and the community. The proposed project includes a variety of new assets for the unit that include an indoor arena, twelve horse stalls, a spacious conference room, and more - each of which are available for sponsorship investment.
